International collaborations are an important factor for excellent research. In order to strengthen this, scientists at universities and non-university research institutions in Lower Saxony will be able to apply for additional funds for international partnerships in future.
In many calls for proposals, up to 10% of the application amount can be additionally allocated to international cooperation in future. This must involve substantial cooperation within the scope of the specific project. The application must clearly state the added value of the international cooperation for the project and the potential for developing long-term relationships with the partner organisation abroad.
Application by attachment
The intended international cooperation should be described as an annex to the main application on a maximum of one page; a cost breakdown must also be included. Applications for the internationalisation module must be submitted together with the main application via the Volkswagen Foundation’s application portal by the deadline of the respective call. Whether the additional funds are possible for a call for proposals will be announced on the respective website. More information on the internationalisation module can be found in the guidelines.
A stand-alone application for the internationalisation module is expressly not possible.
