what we promote
The cooperation of Israeli and Lower Saxon universities and research institutions has a long history. With the funding program "Research Cooperations Lower Saxony – Israel", which funds excellent collaborative research projects, the Ministry of Research and Culture in Lower Saxony and the Volkswagen Foundation support this partnership.
Funding is provided for scientifically outstanding projects conducted jointly by researchers from Israel and Lower Saxony. To set impulses for new collaborations and to enable possibly long lasting academic exchange the program is explicitly aimed at scholars and scientists at an early career stage.
The funding program addresses different disciplines (Humanities and Social Sciences; Life Sciences and Medicine; Natural Sciences, Mathematics and Engineering Sciences) in different years. The current call for application invites proposals from the Life Sciences and Medicine.

Research Cooperation Lower Saxony – Israel
Funding is provided for outstanding research projects in Life Sciences and Medicine carried out jointly by scientists from universities and research institutions in Lower Saxony and Israel. The program is preferably aimed at researchers a few years after their doctorate. Deadline: March 31, 2025
