Lower Saxony's universities have already implemented several promising approaches for effective empirical research on education. The aim of the funding program is to contribute to the further expansion of the research field in the state of Lower Saxony and strengthen its national and international connectivity by providing financial support for professorships and networking activities.
The program aims at strengthening empirical research on education in Lower Saxony and enabling the applicant universities to further raise the profile of teaching and research in this area. Universities in the state of Lower Saxony can request initial funding for a maximum of 2 tenure-track professorships (W2) per location.
